“I was in Sex Addicts Anonymous for just under a year but my time spent there and the events that led me to those meetings had a lasting impact. I now know that I was never a sex addict but instead was a product of a dangerously insidious purity culture that still thrives in many religious contexts today. …”For most of my life, I was told my sexual desires were a sin against God. I believe this led to personal shame and the belief that I couldn’t control my own natural sexual urges. But I now know my curiosity about my sexuality and my body was healthy. When I removed the strict moral lens of religious purity culture, everything became crystal clear.”

Every month, Quaker House takes approximately 300 calls on the GI Rights Hotline from people having issues with military membership. These callers want help and information. Some seek discharge from the military because their consciences will not allow them to fight or kill.
Join us to hear five of these conscientious objectors tell their stories:
Alyssa Fairfax (Space Force/Air Force)
Kristofer Miller (Army)
JD Reisinger (Air National Guard)
David Hice (Army)
Amonte Crawley (Army National Guard)
Each panelist has their own courageous and inspiring story to tell. They come from different religious backgrounds (Islam, Christianity, Buddhism) and different moral perspectives. Attendees will be able to submit questions for the panelists during the webinar. This promises to be a one-of-a-kind discussion and we are looking forward to it!
You must register and space is limited to 100 attendees.…/reg…/WN_zhFpKGCeSK6YEqDZJxrvkA
We hope you will join us June 8 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm EDT!

Dietrich Bonhoeffer

We must act and dare the appropiateness and not whatever comes to our mind not floating in the likelihood but grasp the reality as brave as we can be freedom lies in action not in the absence of mind obedience knows the essence of good and satisfies it, freedom dares to act and returns God the ultimate judgment of what is right and what is wrong, Obedience performs blindly but Freedom is wide awake Freedom wants to know why, Obedience has its hands tied, Freedom is inventive obedient man respects God’s commands and by virtu of his Freedom, he creats new commands. Both Obedience and Freedom come true in responsability (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
