Happy birthday, Hosea Williams (Jan. 5, 1926 – Nov. 16, 2000)! ‪#‎Baptist‬minister. Scientist/chemist. Civil rights activist. Staff member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Organized voter registration drives during Freedom Summer, 1964. On March 7, 1965, he helped lead 600 marchers from Selma to Montgomery, a day remembered as “Sunday Bloody Sunday.” Martin Luther King, Jr., referred to Hosea as “my wild man, my Castro.” Arrested over 100 times. Died at the age of 74 in Atlanta. Buried in Lincoln Cemetery, Atlanta.
