Happy birthday, Elizabeth Margaret Chandler (Dec. 24, 1807 – Nov. 2, 1834)! #Quaker. #Abolitionist. Advocate for women’s rights. Advocate for Native Americans. Poet. Writer. In 1832 she worked with her friend and neighbor, Laura Smith Haviland, to form the Logan Female Anti-Slavery Society in Michigan. This organization became one of the main links to the Underground Railroad to Canada. Buried in the Chandler Family Cemetery, Lenawee County, Michigan.
