On this date in 1531 (Dec. 5th), 10 #Anabaptists were beheaded in #TheHague, Netherlands. Afterwards their heads were delivered to Amsterdam where they were displayed as a warning to others. These persons were all left out of the Dutch martyr books because they had recanted before being executed. (Here at MMS we extend the same honor and respect to those who recanted as to those who did not.) Their names were: Jan Volkertsz Trypmaker, Evert Jans, Jan van Delft, Frans Willems, Gerrit Meynerts, Jan Jermansz, Jan Gouweszn, Thomas Janszn, Jan Thomaszn, and Vranck Willemszn.
